The state has rested its case in the Parkland school shooter sentencing trial. Earlier today, jurors toured the 1200 building where the crime occurred, and have new perspective on the case. They spent about 90 minutes going through the hallways and classrooms which have remained untouched since the crime on February 14th, 2018.

They were not allowed to say anything, take notes or go through any door that was closed.

Earlier this morning, the judge asked Nikolas Cruz if he wanted to come on the visit.

He waived his right.

More victim impact statements were read during the afternoon session before the prosecution rested. The defense will present its case beginning August 22nd.
