With Hurricane Season coming in less than a month, emergency managers and first responders are among the hundreds of people gathering in Palm Beach County this week.

The theme for this year's Governor's Hurricane Conference in West Palm Beach is "Partnering for Success."

Those taking part will present lessons learned from last year's season, which saw Hurricane Ian devastate portions of Florida's Gulf Coast. The storm was thought to have been a Category 4 hurricane, but was recently upgraded to a Cat five by the National Hurricane Center.

There will be more than 30 training sessions and nearly 5 dozen workshops during the event that runs through Friday.

Among the keynote speakers are National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome, Florida's Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie and Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nunez.

The presentations will all be made during Wednesday's General Session.
