James Hetfield Proposes To Partner Adriana Gillett Underwater While Swimming With Whale Sharks

Metallica frontman James Hetfield is headed to the altar for a second time as he proposed to his girlfriend, Adriana Gillett, on Friday. And it was no ordinary proposal as he popped the question underwater while holding a sign that read, "Adriana Gillett, will you marry me?"

He posted a photo on the band's Instagram of the couple under the waves in which he's holding the sign and she's giving a thumbs up. It's captioned, "She said yes!" Adriana also posted the photo and captioned it, "The BEST birthday trip surprise. Swimming with whale sharks on Friday the 13th with the most unique, special and romantic proposal a Pisces could ever imagine. In a sea full of fish, we caught each other. Thank you God for putting us together." Hetfield and his wife Francesca divorced in 2022 after 25 years. They have three children -- two girls and a boy.

RUSH: Post Pressure Performance

Rush celebrated Friday’s release of the deluxe version of their 10th album, 1984's Grace Under Pressure, by posting on YouTube their concert from September 21st, 1984 at Maple Leaf Gardens in their hometown of Toronto, which is included in this collection. Previously released in 1986, the film has been re-edited from the original camera masters and remastered in HD and contains close to 40 minutes of unreleased performances. As for the re-release of the album, it's available in multiple configurations with the Super Deluxe Edition containing four CDs, one Blu-ray, and a 52-page hardcover book. The first CD contains the album’s original 1984 stereo mix newly remastered from the original analog stereo master tapes.

Looking back on the album, Geddy Lee says, "Our songwriting had taken us to a different musical place. An expansion of our soundscape with a range of new technologies, not just keyboards and samples, but electronic drums too." Although Grace Under Pressure was the first Rush studio album NOT produced by Terry Brown, the second CD in this collection features his brand-new stereo mix of the album, as created from the original studio album’s analog multi-tracks. Brown says he “suggested it to Alex [Lifeson] and Ged by saying to them, ‘Let me do a couple of tunes. If you love it, we can move forward.’ As it turned out, they did love it. I had to give the guys something they would be excited about, so I went for a little more detail, different reverbs, and a larger footprint, all while maintaining the integrity of the original record.”

And spread over the third and fourth CDs is the first-ever complete set list of their show from September 21st, 1984, at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. The Blu-ray contains the video of the Toronto concert, remastered in HD with the audio in Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 5.1, and PCM stereo options, all newly mixed by Terry Brown. Its previous incarnation as 1986’s Grace Under Pressure concert home video and CD was somewhat incomplete, and this new full concert experience features 37 minutes of unreleased performances. Also on the Blu-ray is Grace Under Pressure in Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and PCM stereo, and Terry Brown’s new album remix in PCM stereo. You will also find the videos for “Distant Early Warning,” “Afterimage,” “The Enemy Within,” and “The Body Electric,” all of which have been visually remastered in HD. But wait, there's more:

  • Geddy wrote the liner notes.
  • Original album designer Hugh Syme re-imagines the original album cover along with creating brand-new illustrations for each of the album’s eight songs and other related visual elements in the book.
  • Exclusive bonus collectibles in the box include a custom acrylic Grace Under Pressure LED light-up display; a replica of the Grace Under Pressure tour book; a replica Maple Leaf Gardens/Toronto show concert ticket; a Grace Under Pressure Tour total access backstage pass; “Pressure Release” a replica of the six-page press release; three band member live photo lithos; and a poster from the Toronto show. All contents are housed in a premium lift-top box.

Dave Grohl Shows Off His BBQ Skills Once Again

Dave Grohl is almost as well-known as a pitmaster as he is for his place in rock history. The Foo Fighters frontman has been known to bring his barbecue skills to bear for local charities in the past. Recently, Dave broke out the tongs once again for a friend. Party goers at a Los Angeles backyard bash were shocked when they pulled up to get a plate, and it was Grohl serving up the pulled pork. The get-together was held at a friend's house known for hosting small backyard concerts, and had reportedly been planned well in advance, though no one was told the rocker would be in attendance.

Sebastian Bach Apologizes To Christina Applegate For His Part In Her Dumping Brad Pitt

Some people are still regretting - or apologizing for - the 80s. In this story we have both. In Christina Applegate's memoir "You With The Sad Eyes," she revealed that she invited Brad Pitt to the 1989 MTV VMAs but ditched him to leave with Skid Row lead vocalist Sebastian Bach. Hey, it was 80s, she was 17, Bach was the hot new thing, and at the time Brad Pitt was not yet "BRAD PITT." Not good, but sort of understandable. Though the two didn't actually hook up, Christina was overcome with regret when she learned Bach had a partner and a 1-year-old child. When the memoir came out last week, the singer had a response to the incident, telling "Billboard," "I was a single guy on tour, in a band, and I met a lot of girls and I apologize if I hurt her…if I hurt anybody. When you’re young you get thrown into the whirlwind of rock ‘n’ roll, meeting a lot of people and you better hold on tight. It’s like being on a roller coaster.”
