Let's say you are like millions of punk fans everywhere and were not around when the Sex Pistols rocked the world back in the late 70's, well now fans will finally be able to judge for themselves with the release of three live albums from the band's 1978 U.S. tour!
Johnny Rotten ended the pistols on stage at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco in 1978, and the band hadn't performed together until they reformed in 1996. Now fans get to see the San Francisco show and Atlanta, as well as the infamous Dallas show in a special edition colored vinyl release before all three are made available in a three-CD set and digital download.
The tour was a defining point in punk rock, as the band's reputation preceded it across America's conservative underbelly, John Rotten, Paul Cook, Steve Jones and Sid Vicious going into venues made for a confrontation to break out. Tensions brewed, cracks broke out and after the chaos the band was done.
The newly mastered recordings will put you right in the middle of the madness that brought an end to the punk revolution and opened the door to the post-punk/ new wave era.
