Sting & Andy Summers Come Together To Cover Their Classic

Sting and Andy Summers reunited to cover their Police classic "Murder by Numbers!"

Originally a CD and cassette bonus track on Synchronicity, the jazz standard now has the big band treatment, with Sting on vocals and Summers on guitar, for Christian McBride’s Without Further Ado, Vol. 1 album, which drops August 29th.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have Sting and Andy Summers — two-thirds of one of the most influential bands in history, the Police — join me for one of their songs,” McBride said. “Sting continues to evolve gracefully as an artist, and Andy still plays with the sophisticated fire and grit he has always possessed. A huge thank you to both of them, as well as to the remarkable Pedrito Martinez, for bringing that special ‘thang’ that only he can provide.”

This isn’t the first time that members of The Police have come together to remake one of their songs, as the band attempted to rework all of their classic songs for their Greatest Hits album, that resulted in only remaking “Don’t Stand So Close To Me”, due to Stewart Copeland’s foot injury eventually leading to the band self-destructing from the process of trying to remake the songs.
