Ocala Couple Arrested After Son's Serious Injuries Raise Red Flags

Ocala, FL - An Ocala couple faces child neglect and abuse charges after their infant's injuries raised concerns.

Authorities say 24-year-old Jacob Bratt and 19-year-old Charli Homer were arrested after their infant daughter was hospitalized with a fractured skull.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Bratt initially claimed he accidentally fell on the baby in March.

However, medical records revealed a history of worrisome injuries and developmental delays for the child.

Additionally, inconsistencies in their stories and the account of another resident in the home cast doubt on Bratt's explanation.

Homer reportedly admitted to deleting messages that could incriminate Bratt.

Furthermore, Bratt's claim of having multiple personalities, with one named "Jake" responsible for some actions, did not hold up under scrutiny.

Both Bratt and Homer provided identical, yet implausible, accounts of the incident.

Bratt faces charges of child cruelty and neglect, while Homer faces neglect charges.

Both were released on bond and will face a judge at the end of May.

The infant's condition and future are not mentioned in the report.
