Lehigh Acres, FL - A Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly leaving her two young children in a hot car while shopping at a Dollar General store in Lehigh Acres.

On Sunday, deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of two children left unattended in a non-running vehicle at the store's parking lot on Homestead Road.

Upon arrival, deputies found the children strapped in their seatbelts inside the vehicle, which was off with all windows rolled up, trapping the heat inside.

Body camera footage from deputies showed one officer asking the children if they were okay, commenting on the high temperature inside the car.

Marianne Isnar, the children’s mother, returned to her vehicle shortly after deputies arrived.

She told officers she had been inside the store for five minutes, but witnesses claimed she had been gone for about 25 minutes.

Deputies noted the car was not running, and no windows were lowered for ventilation.

After 10 minutes of the vehicle doors being open, the temperature inside the car remained at 100 degrees.

Isnar was arrested and charged with child neglect for allegedly leaving her children in the vehicle.

Emergency medical services evaluated the children before they were released to a family member.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno emphasized that the case serves as a warning that those endangering children’s lives will face accountability.
