Lake Worth, FL - A small plane crashed in Lake Worth on Monday evening, injuring seven people, including two from the aircraft and five from a car it collided with.
The crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. when an Orlican M8 Eagle, a single-engine aircraft, reportedly clipped the top of a car before crashing onto a sidewalk, according to local reports.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the incident in a statement, saying two people were on board the plane when it crashed.
The FAA is currently investigating the crash.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) reported that seven people were transported to nearby hospitals following the accident.
Two victims from the plane were among those hospitalized, while five individuals from the car also received medical care.
The nature and severity of the injuries have not been disclosed, but authorities confirmed that two patients were considered trauma alerts, and five others were taken as a precaution.
Lake Worth, located just 10 miles south of Palm Beach, is the site of the crash.
Emergency responders worked swiftly to manage the scene and transport the injured individuals.
At this time, there is no further information regarding the identities or ages of the victims.
News outlets have reached out to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for additional details on the investigation, but a statement has not been issued as of yet.
