The 2025 lobster mini season in Florida starts Tuesday night just after midnight and ends at midnight on Thursday, July 31.
The two-day bug event allows recreational divers to harvest spiny lobsters before the regular season begins August 6 and runs through March 31.
Here are some of the rules from FWC:
- Valid Florida saltwater fishing license and a spiny lobster permit are required.
- Only six lobsters per person per day in Monroe County and Biscayne National Park; 12 lobsters per person per day in the rest of Florida.
- Body length must be larger than 3 inches, measured in the water.
- Diver flag required when divers and snorkelers are in the water.
- Egg-bearing lobsters must be released unharmed.
